Shipping & Returns policies

Returns / Exchanges and Refunds

Peterborough Photo Service wants you to be completely satisfied with your purchases. If, for any reason whatsoever, you wish to return or exchange an item, we will be happy to do so within the deadlines mentioned below. This is part of Peterborough Photo Service's satisfaction guarantee.


Returns and Refund Policy

If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, you can return most products within 10 days and get a full refund or exchange.  Most new and non-consumable products valued at less than CAN $ 1,500.00 before taxes (subject to the rules and policies set out below). Items must be in the same original new condition as received, including original manufacturer packaging; otherwise returns will be subject to a minimum restocking and / or repackaging charge. Peterborough Photo Service reserves the right to determine what the costs will be and can only do so after receipt and evaluation of the item (s).


For the avoidance of any doubt, please be advised that for all online/web purchases, the time period commences on the date the items were delivered.


Definition of New Condition

New condition is defined as:

  • Unused (items with timers showing less than 120 minutes of use and items with shutter counts less than 200 exposures)
  • Original box including all packing materials in the same condition as shown
  • Not registered with blank warranty card
  • Unopened manuals
  • All the accessories present


Professional equipment (items over $ 1,500)

Many professional products require registration at the time of purchase. Once registered, these items will not be refunded or exchanged as new. Professional items will be considered second-hand trade-ins and will be valued as such.

If your original item included free items, you must return all associated items for a full refund; the retail value of any free items you keep will be deducted from your total refund amount.

Items not eligible for a return or refund:

  • Memory card or external memory with the packaging open
  • Software for which the casing or case has been opened
  • Paper and chemistry
  • Movies
  • Special order
  • Peterborough Photo Service gift card
  • Quadcopter (drones)
  • All DJI brand products (if the box is open)
  • Battery
  • Lamps
  • Ink for inkjet printer
  • Printers with ink cartridges installed
  • Screen calibrators
  • Headsets and earphones (if the box is open)


Any complaint, for an item missing or received broken or non-functional, must be made within two (2) days of receipt of the goods.

  • Returned merchandise must be inspected by a Peterborough Photo Service advisor before reimbursement.
  • Peterborough Photo Service reserves the right to invoice any missing, broken or damaged item.
  • Returned items must be accompanied by the original invoice.


Refund transaction

Refunds will be made using the same payment method (PayPal, credit, debit, credit note) and in the event of in-store refunds by credit or debit card, the original card holder must be present with the card .


To ensure the integrity of our products, Peterborough Photo Service does not accept refunds / exchanges for the following products:

  • Professional equipment with a retail value of $ 1,500.00 or greater
  • Select professional equipment less than $ 1,500.00 once opened (software, printers, open scanners, drones, lighting equipment, memory cards)
  • All consumable items (film, ink, paper, chemistry, darkroom suppliers, portable items, batteries, chargers, bulbs)
  • Special order items not stocked


As soon as we have received and inspected the returned product, we will issue your refund and send you a confirmation by email.


Technical issues with your new product

If you are having difficulty with your new product, contact pbophotoservice@bellnet.ca before requesting a return.


Defective merchandise can be exchanged for the same for the same item or an equivalent manufacturer replacement under the terms and conditions of the manufacturer's warranty, but we recommend that you always test your products within 10 days.


RETURN PROCEDURE

Store returns

All returns must be accompanied by the original sales receipt and are subject to inspection and return approval by sales staff and / or Peterborough Photo Service manager.

In the event of a refund by credit or debit card, the original card holder must be present with the card

 

Online/Web Customers

  • If your purchase was made online, you have 10 days from the date of receipt to contact Peterborough Photo Service by email: pbophotoservice@bellnet.ca to request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA).
  • All items returned without an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number will be refused and returned at the customer's expense.
  • Once RMA is approved, customer will arrange timely shipment at customer's expense.


Shipping and delivery policies

International: We currently do not offer international delivery.


Canada Post: Peterborough Photo Service recommends this service for small items and finishing orders. Note: some items cannot be shipped by Canada Post


Shipping times - Any delay attributable to the transport company is not the responsibility of Peterborough Photo Service. Please note that delays can and do occur. We suggest that you choose a delivery method that ensures your items will arrive comfortably before any expected need.


Large and heavy items are not included in the free delivery offer. Ex: telescopes, large-format printers, backdrops and other large-format products.
